DRIVE EV offers rebates for the purchase or lease of new and used battery electric vehicles (BEVs), fuel-cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) from licensed Rhode Island automobile dealerships. New BEV/FCEV rebates are up to $3,000.00 and new PHEV rebates up to $2,000.00; used BEV/FCEV rebates are up to $2,500.00 and used PHEV rebates up to $1,750.00. Rebates are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis contingent on funding availability.

- Eligibility
- Rhode Island residents who purchase or lease a qualifying vehicle from a licensed Rhode Island automobile dealership. New EVs must have an agreed upon vehicle value at or below $75,000.00; used EVs at or below $55,000.00. Leased used vehicles must have a lease term of at least 24 months. Applicants must submit all required supporting documentation within 120 days of purchase or lease date, including a valid RI registration certificate, final sales or lease agreement, RI driver's license, and signed W-9 form.
