Green Energy Loan Fund (GELF)

A revolving low-interest loan fund managed by the Reinvestment Fund on behalf of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that finances energy efficiency retrofits, energy conservation measures, high-performance energy systems, on-site renewable energy systems, and combined heat-and-power systems in buildings throughout Pennsylvania. All projects must result in a 25% reduction in energy consumption. The program has lent over $17 million to projects across Pennsylvania.

- Existing occupied buildings undergoing one or more energy retrofit measures, gut rehab, or new construction/additions; projects must result in a 25% reduction in energy consumption. On-site renewable energy and combined heat-and-power systems are eligible only when part of a larger building energy efficiency project. Single-family homes are not eligible.
