Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR)

Provides income-eligible homeowners and renters rebates for the purchase of high-efficiency electrical appliances and home electrification upgrades, such as heat pump water heaters, electric stoves, electrical panels, and heat pumps. Maximum rebate is up to $14,000 per dwelling.

- Single-family homeowners, multifamily building owners, and tenants (with owner permission). Household income must be below 150% of Area Median Income. Low-income residents (below 80% AMI) receive up to 100% of project costs covered; moderate-income residents (80%–150% AMI) receive up to 50% of project costs. Appliances must be ENERGY STAR certified. Contractors are required to perform installation. Enrollment in LIEAP or Medicaid can qualify applicants for greater rebates without additional income verification.
