Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) Program

A rebate program created under the Inflation Reduction Act to reduce the upfront cost of energy-efficient electric appliances and upgrades (e.g., heat pumps, electric stoves, insulation) for eligible New Hampshire households. NH DOE is slated to receive $34,749,580 through September 2031. The program is currently under development and expected to launch mid-summer 2026.

- Households who earn up to 150% of the area median income. For households earning between 80% and 150% of area median income, maximum rebate is 50% of project costs. For households earning less than 80% of area median income, eligible for rebates up to 100% of project cost. Rebates only available for projects initiated after the program has officially launched.
