Under Section 40101(d) of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), the U.S. Department of Energy provided grants to states and Indian Tribes to improve the resilience of their electric grids. Nevada's Governor's Office of Energy (GOE) is further allocating these funds to eligible entities such as electric grid operators, electricity storage operators, electricity generators, transmission owners/operators, distribution providers, and fuel suppliers. Eligible projects include weatherization, fire-resistant technologies, undergrounding electrical equipment, microgrids, battery-storage subcomponents, and other grid hardening measures.
