- Low-income Montana households (homeowners and renters) meeting income and resource limits; households receiving SNAP, SSI, or TANF may qualify automatically. LIHEAP income upper limit is 60% of state median income for households of 1–8, or 150% of poverty threshold for households of 9+. Applications accepted October 1 through April 30 each year.
