Iowa Solar Energy System Tax Credit – Residential
Iowa — state programup to $5,000; credit rate 15% (2016–2019), 13% (2020), 11% (2021), 0% (2022 or later)
A state tax credit for residential solar energy system installations (solar electric and solar water heating) completed prior to the 2022 calendar year. The credit rate was based on 50% of the applicable federal rate under IRC Section 25D, capped at $5,000. Residential installations placed in service after December 31, 2021 are not eligible.
