Illinois' ~$108M allocation of the VW Settlement Environmental Mitigation Trust (Appendix D), administered by Illinois EPA per the Revised Beneficiary Mitigation Plan (April 2022). Funds NOx-reduction projects: light-duty ZEV charging infrastructure (15% allocation), all-electric public transit including Class 4-8 transit buses + commuter locomotives (32%), all-electric school buses (32%), all-electric Class 4-8 local freight trucks including municipal/refuse/dump/concrete-mixer/delivery/drayage (19%), administrative expenditures (2%). 80% of trust funds must be obligated within ten years of trust effective date.
