A $300/kWh upfront rebate for distributed energy storage is part of the Illinois / ComEd Virtual Power Plant (VPP) program. As of June 2026 the VPP program was targeted to launch around June 30, 2026 and was NOT yet live or enrolling — treat this rebate as REAL BUT PENDING, not a current rolling program. Do not put the $300/kWh figure in a client capital stack until ComEd or the Illinois Power Agency confirm the VPP launch date, enrollment, and current value. (Earlier text described this as a live "rolling" DG rebate — corrected 2026-06-01.) Will stack with the federal Section 48E standalone-storage ITC (30%) once live.

- Re-verified 2026-06-01 (two independent research passes): the $300/kWh storage rebate is the ComEd / Illinois VPP incentive, pending launch (around 6/30/2026), not yet live. Confirm status, enrollment, and value with ComEd before quoting any dollar figure. The federal 48E standalone-storage ITC (30%, BOC through 2033, retains 5-year MACRS) is the durable, currently-available storage incentive — lead with that.
