Federal EPA DERA State Clean Diesel Grant funds administered by Illinois EPA via Cooperative Agreements. Each federal fiscal year IL EPA receives a small base allocation (~$300K–500K, recent years $364,398 in FY21, $369,441 in FY20, $500,823 in FY19), then re-grants those funds to in-state fleet operators for diesel emission-reduction projects. Eligible technologies include EPA-verified retrofits, certified engine repowers, idle-reduction tech, aerodynamic devices, low-rolling-resistance tires, and early engine/vehicle/equipment replacement. - IL EPA DERA pass-through is a small-dollar program (~$300K–500K total annual IL allocation, source: epa.gov/dera/state-allocations) — better suited to subsidizing one small fleet conversion rather than large rollouts. For larger DERA opportunities point clients at the National DERA grant cycle (see il_dera_national entry) or the VW Trust (see il_vw_trust). No DERA NOFO currently open as of 2026-04-25.
