IL EPA grant program established under CEJA (Public Act 102-0662) to fund installation and maintenance of publicly-available Level 2 and Level 3 (DC fast) charging stations. Awards consistent with Illinois Commerce Commission-approved Beneficial Electrification Plans. Up to 80% of installation cost funded, with additional adders available for stations sited in eligible communities. Program rules at 35 Ill. Adm. Code 285. Round 3 opened November 17, 2025 with ~$20M; currently closed (all funding requested) pending re-opening notification via the Driving a Cleaner Illinois listserv.

Round 3 ($20M) currently closed pending re-opening. First-come-first-served when open. CEJA EV Charging is one of the three streams flowing into the Driving a Cleaner Illinois umbrella (along with VW Trust and DERA). Sign up for the DACI listserv to receive re-opening notification — IL EPA does not pre-announce future NOFOs. Stackable with NEVI for additional charging coverage; cannot exceed total project cost.
