Renewable Energy Technologies Income Tax Credit (RETITC)

Hawaii — state programSee program
The Hawaiʻi Renewable Energy Technologies Income Tax Credit (RETITC) provides eligible taxpayers with a state income tax credit for qualifying renewable energy systems, supporting the deployment of distributed renewable energy technologies across the state. Act 24 (SB 3125, 2026) makes several changes to the credit beginning with taxable years after December 31, 2026, including new eligibility requirements, certification provisions, aggregate credit limits, and a future sunset. Executive Order 26-02 preserves the solar tax credit as it existed before Act 24 for taxable year 2026.
