Hawaii Agricultural Alternative Energy Loan Program
Hawaii — state program$1,500,000 or 85 percent of the project cost, whichever is less
Established by Act 209 (2008), this program provides loans to help full-time farmers, ranchers, and aquaculturalists reduce dependence on fossil fuel by producing renewable energy (e.g., photovoltaic, hydroelectric, wind, methane, biodiesel, ethanol). Loans may also be used for food safety projects. Funds can cover infrastructure, equipment, land improvement, and operating costs.
