Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Rebate Program

DNREC offers rebates to reduce the cost of Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations purchased and installed after May 1, 2026, at multi-family dwellings, workplaces, public access locations, and fleet sites. Rebates cover a percentage of eligible charging station purchase and installation costs, with enhanced incentive levels available for priority/disadvantaged areas and for government/nonprofit applicants. The program is funded at $2 million on a first-come, first-served basis.

- Multi-family dwellings (apartments and condos with four or more residential units), public access locations (retail centers, park and rides, hospitals, schools and universities, downtown areas, parking garages, hotels, parks, destinations and attractions), fleet (charging stations for fleet vehicles only), and workplace (employers in a non-residential place of business). Single-family home charging stations are not eligible. Charging stations must be purchased and installed after May 1, 2026.
