Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC) Program

The EPIC program invests in scientific and technological research to accelerate the transformation of the electricity sector to meet California's energy and climate goals. It funds technology demonstration and deployment across areas including renewable energy, grid resilience, electric buildings and transportation, and decentralized grid solutions. The program is funded by ratepayers of PG&E, SCE, and SDG&E, with the California Energy Commission managing 80% and the three utilities administering the remainder.
