LIHEAP is a federally funded block grant program that lowers the energy burden for low-income households by helping pay home energy bills—heating costs during the winter and cooling costs during the summer. Arkansas offers two benefit types: a Regular benefit (fixed amount based on household income, size, and energy source) and a Crisis benefit (up to a maximum policy amount to prevent disconnection, restore service, or replenish depleted fuel supply).
