Established by the Alabama Innovation Act (Legislative Act #2019-404), ARDEF provides grants to encourage new and continuing research and development activities within Alabama, with the purpose of increasing employment opportunities and expanding products and services available to Alabama citizens. Applicants must provide a match equal to 50% of the total project cost in the form of cash, grants, or contracts (no state funds may be used as match).
